Tanakpur- Pithoragarh NH closed due to arrival of Malwa

Champawat. Due to continuous heavy rains since late night in Champawat, heavy debris from the hill in Santola on Tanakpur Pithoragarh NH fell on the NH on Thursday due to which the NH has been closed.

Vehicles are stuck due to the closure of NH. Social worker of the area Harishchandra Tiwari said that NH has been closed due to debris in Santola at 5:00 am today.

He said that there is heavy rain in the area. Due to the alert of heavy rains given by the Meteorological Department, the administration is in alert mode. All the schools in the district have been closed and people have also been appealed to travel only when necessary and not to go to the banks of rivers and streams.
