Displacement of 28 families of Kot village of Tehri established

Uttarakhand. Landslides have been continuing for the last several years in Kot village located in Budhakedar area of Balganga tehsil in Tehri Garhwal district, due to which the villagers are being displaced. The process of displacement of 28 families of village Kot is currently being carried out. Kot village comes in Balganga tehsil of Tehri district. Geologists have said that landslide areas have developed at many places in village Kot. Due to this, there is a possibility of a major incident in the area.

For safety reasons, 28 affected families are being displaced so that no family resides near the buildings proposed for displacement and the newly constructed landslide affected areas. Even during this monsoon season, the people of this area had to face disaster-like situations many times due to heavy rains.

Due to rain and landslides, many people lost their lives and paddy worth lakhs has also been lost. State Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman said that the work of shifting the affected people of Kot village is going on. The amount of money demanded by the District Magistrate has been given. Everyone is being relocated to a safe place.
